Who They Are
Dropbox Paper is a collaborative workspace that brings creation and coordination into a single flow. Designed for teams that need simplicity without sacrificing clarity, it’s a lighter, more flexible companion to Dropbox’s core platform.

The Problem
Dropbox Paper had grown in popularity but lacked a distinct visual and narrative identity. While the product experience was strong, the supporting landing pages and brand touchpoints felt disconnected, visually plain, and loosely structured. The design system needed tightening, and the messaging needed clarity to better communicate the product’s purpose within the Dropbox ecosystem.

My Role
I served as lead brand designer on this initiative, helping evolve the visual system for Dropbox Paper. My work spanned concept development, visual refinement, and collaborative creative direction, from refreshing the landing page experience to aligning visuals and messaging with Dropbox’s broader brand. My role combined exploration and execution, working with cross-functional partners to build a more elevated and unified experience.
The Solution
The project focused on refreshing the visual and narrative expression of Dropbox Paper. I helped design a system of visuals and layout patterns that brought clarity and approachability to the product story. This included distilling features into intuitive storytelling blocks and introducing a modular layout system that could scale across surfaces.

I also contributed to the refinement of Dropbox Paper’s tone, typography, and overall expression to better match the parent brand while allowing for a more playful voice suited to the product. These updates helped bridge the gap between product function and user perception, making the offering feel both clearer and more compelling.
Why It Matters
This work helped define Dropbox Paper’s unique identity within the broader Dropbox suite. It made the product easier to understand, more approachable to new users, and more consistent across campaigns and pages. Internally, the updated system provided clearer design guidance and enabled faster iteration with stronger brand alignment.
